Rapper Tay-K, born Taymor McIntyre, has been found guilty in the 2017 murder of 23-year-old photographer Mark Anthony Saldivar — marking the second murder conviction for the now-24-year-old.

The incident occurred while Tay-K was on the run from police, evading arrest in connection to the 2016 botched home invasion that left 21-year-old Ethan Walker dead. At the time, Tay-K infamously released the viral track "The Race," which depicted his time on the run and helped propel him into national headlines.

According to court documents, Tay-K and a group of associates lured Saldivar under the pretense of a photo shoot. But once Saldivar was in the car, he was reportedly robbed at gunpoint for his camera gear. Prosecutors say that when Saldivar attempted to flee the vehicle, Tay-K fatally shot him in broad daylight on the side of a San Antonio highway.

While the jury found Tay-K guilty of murder, they did not convict him of capital murder — a charge that would have carried an automatic life sentence without the possibility of parole.

This latest conviction adds to Tay-K’s already lengthy prison time. In 2019, he was sentenced to 55 years for his role in Ethan Walker’s death. With this new verdict, he now faces an additional sentence ranging from 5 to 99 years, pending formal sentencing.
