Sean Kingston has been taken into federal custody after failing to pay a $100,000 cash bond stemming from his recent wire fraud conviction.

According to Baller Alert, the “Beautiful Girls” singer — whose real name is Kisean Paul Anderson — appeared in court on April 10 for a bond compliance hearing. When he was unable to produce the required cash bond, the court ordered him into custody, where he will remain until his sentencing later this summer.

Last month, Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud each. Federal prosecutors allege that the duo orchestrated a scheme to defraud multiple vendors and individuals out of more than $1 million in luxury goods and services, including high-end watches, designer clothing, and electronics.

The conviction carries serious consequences. Both Kingston and his mother face up to 20 years in federal prison for each count. Their sentencing is scheduled for July 11, 2025.

Neither Kingston nor his legal team have released a statement regarding the court’s latest decision.
